Legacy

God bless Monty Oum an his brilliance. It was truly unfortunate to see him pass before he realized his dream. An that dream would be Dead Fantasy. This epic movie is as hardcore as it comes when it comes to cross mixing characters. The Avengers of game characters. These characters would be drafted from Dead or Alive, Ninja Gaiden, Final Fantasy, and even Kingdom Hearts. Makes you wish these creators would actually think about coming together. As much as I love seeing Tifa punch Honoka off a collapsing building. Throughout the series, it’s impossible to really which side is winning. So I’m going to let the readers be the judge. I hope you all enjoy Monty final production.

SAO Fatal Bullet Review

Phantom Bullet Arc

Don’t Attack Me Just Yet

From SAO Infinity Moments to Hollow Realization. So far I’ve only completed 5 of the main games (Infinity Moments, Hollow Realization, Hollow Fragment, Lost Song, and Fatal Bullet) an 4 of the cooperative games (Dengenki Bunko, God Eater 2, Accel World, & Digimon Stories) but after recently reaching level 200 on Fatal Bullet decided it was time to give an honest review.

As a personal preference of someone who prefers shooting games, compared to slashing your way through an obstacle of mountain size beast. I was prepared to spend countless hours sniping my way through dungeons. Since the Phantom Bullet Arc, wasn’t entirely one of my favorite arcs, I was pretty ecstatic at the fact that we could ignore it altogether. As you nerve dive online with all of your favorite characters. Keeping with the same concept of picking a team to run with, mines consisted of Sinon, my AI, and the lovely Strea.

Thanks to the DLC your able to use other Arc characters, Mothers Rosario, Alternative, & Alicization. Of course you have to pay for them, to play their story + new dungeons.

Storyline

You start off as a newbie gunner, with your friend Kureha (personally is a very weak heroine) who sets off to conquer the online world. Well not exactly, though it would’ve been a better plot than the run around Fatal Bullet gives us. You get cornered an extremely lucky on your first quest an unlock a humanoid AI ArFA-sys, who just want’s to act more human. Afterwards the plot drags, an drags, an drags, an suddenly you just say screw it, an randomly re do the same dungeon about 20x until your strong enough for the next one. (Rinse-Wash-Repeat)

If you steamroll it, the main plot could be completed in roughly a day, which is as bad as an idea as it is to skip character cinematic scenes, or not only will you miss key details, but certain actions changes the next scene. Like in one scene it shows the main villain kicking everyone out of the server, or it would show you just being forcibly ejected without knowing why, if you just skip the scenes an not dialogue with them. In fact skipping scenes make you miss the true ending, an force’s you to make the hard decision at the end, “which friend do I kill off.” As you play as a separate character from Kirito, as in other games you played as Kirito with a different avatar. This game focuses on a bitter rivalry between you an Kureha, except you know nothing of this rivalry until she tries to shoot you in the face. As you progress insanely fast, compared to her, you leave everyone you in the dust as you become the top player in GGO. Those around you become jealous, others become obsessed.

Thanks to this Nutball, after countless grinding, hours of maxing out the affection rate of all your favorite characters, and building the ultimate team. You face a situation you can’t fix or beat on your first run, (unless you watch YouTube videos on how to) than every first timer will be faced with a hard choice that they trick you into making. Since I skipped Kirito Mode, I rushed right into the final battle completely unprepared. Ready to use my Tiamat to take down the final boss. Than here he comes ready to ruin it all.

For those who’ve yet to play the game, I already spoiled to much, so I won’t spoil anymore, especially since the decision wasn’t really a hard one, the game doesn’t really force you to make a connection to which character to kill off. It actually does it for you, by asking you a simple question moments before you actually enter the dungeon. Based on how you answer it, determines which bad end you get. Me personally would gladly kill Kureha. Can’t even be sexy right, put one right between her forehead.

You wonder why I dislike her so much. Simply because her character is useless an only drags on the story. She has issues at home, an comes to this virtual world to feel needed. Since she wasn’t to popular she convince you to play. She uses you to feel bigger, or like an older sister because hers in real life actually does something with her life. When she feel like your fame goes to your head, she challenges you on multiple occasions. When your nominated as leader, she quickly downgrades your ability to lead, an sharply throws you under the bus. When Itsuki confronts her on it, she lashes out an plays victim. So throughout the story she does nothing to actually help you, besides sabotage you. “Off With Her Head, I Say

Combat

Besides the story, the actual combat is pretty amazing, as you zip across the field with easy control. Trying out several types of guns like Snipers, Gatlinguns, Swords, an or even both, as you can dual wield handguns an swords. Have bad aim, no problem, the Aim Assist, would help you so much, it would make you feel like a hacker. Fatal Bullet does a good job at making it feel realistic, as they add a weight limit, with various restrictions so your not running around with a 10 megaton Tiamat + Rocketlaucher, but only strong enough for an AR. As you level up, you can acquire new gadgets, stats, and abilities, that make grinding worth it. With an unlimited use but timer base, you can run a variety of ways to kill off enemies, be they friend or foe.

Final Verdict (3/5)

As enjoyable as the game was, personal feelings aside, the game was extremely flawed. Online play gets you nowhere, getting the expansion house is a pipe dream for beginners, dialog goes in circles, spamming bosses, an sluggish gameplay. Besides the ability to be able to play other characters expansion packs, I wouldn’t recommend being in a hurry to beat. First 5 hours feels like paradise, your next 20 gone feel like you beat this dungeon 99x already. Dive straight into hopelessness as you try to navigate online play with players who refuse to help you if your low level. Aside from the Sachi DLC.

I felt no real need to Return, (yes, they somehow managed to pull on our Sachi Heart Strings again.) As the series progress, I’m sure countless other payable DLC will be added. I’m just ready for when Reki Kawahara create his own Nerve Gear to trap us. If you made it this far, congrats your officially an SAO lover, which is an intense fanbase. You either have pitch forks in your hand, or Waifu’s across your shirt. I picture something like this happens, whenever a SAO discussion is started. You can see the seriousness in their eyes, which is full of Asuka hate.

As a thank you for making it this far here are my top 3 Games + Anime of the week. (Not subjected to new releases.)

Arguably my favorite DBZ game ever made by far. Even with the excessive remakes they keep putting out, this one will always stand above the others as a anime brawler. They even managed to get the GT series into the story mode with it’s massive game play. (Don’t like GT, Fight Me)

I have a personal love for the tales series, and since the love is personal, I’m putting it in my personal list. As you power through as the villain of the story, this game makes destroying the world seem fun. As a anti-heroine, you discover the prequel of Zestiria, that plays with your emotions constantly. Now come kidnap, an manipulate other character to joining you on your journey, as a Demon-Eating Demon.

I plan on writing about this anime once the season is finished, because this is by far one of my favorite comedic animes I’ve seen thus far. As we explore dominant teens who secretly love each other, but don’t want to be the first to admit it. One is a poor student president, the other is rich vice president. These 2 genius alongside secretary Chika, an others, lose count as you try to bet on will make the other admit love first. Love is truly a Battlefield.

My First Anime

As a new blogger, I find it necessary to make the First Post as Jaw Dropping, Eye gouging, an Pitch Fork raising as possible. So I went through multiple memoirs to find a decent topic.

Decisions, Decisions

My first thought as a gamer was to obviously write about my favorite Anime Game, the Holy Grail for people like me. With so many epic releases coming out like Jump Stars, One Piece: World Seeker, and Kill La Kill (we all know Mako is the most OP character)

But there was no shortage of ideas. Just like a responsible Otaku I took a 2 week vacation off work, just so I can spend a extra 12 hours getting a platinum on my Ps4. But, it just doesn’t resonate with me. So I scrolled through the manga I’m currently reading, an I found nothing that if you somehow landed on this page, you haven’t already heard about a gazillion times. Cough *Tensei Shitara Slime Datta Ken* but for a repetitive cliché, it is beautiful.

I figured I should, like every anime blog talk about our comicon adventure, an how I met my first cosplayer several years ago. But that story goes sideways really fast, so another time maybe. Than I realized before I can even talk about that whole fiasco, I have to talk about how it all began, which was with my very first anime.

Life Changing

So what was it that set me off to a land of no return. I don’t mean the anime we watched as kids like, DBZ, Yu-Gi-Oh, or even Cubix. Yes Cubix if you didn’t enjoy this as a kid than your life is a lie, an you know it. “Robots For Everyone” while everyone was outside trying to turn Super Saiyan, I was outside singing this theme song.

I don’t mean the shows we watched as a fab because everyone else was, I mean the one that made me a fanatic. From Samurai Jack to Naruto, nothing really kept my attention, because bout time I went knee deep into Naruto, Madara was chucking meteors at Ninjas, like a little 10 year old boy dropping pebbles at ants. “My brain several years ago when I finally caught up.”

For me it was a more out of a left field, I was recommended to watch SAO, which I really enjoyed kill me. First season was perfect to me as a kid. Dashing mc, sturdy heroine, life or death scenario, I save you, you save me situation, (yes Asuka did save him multiple times, pathetic as critics make her seem) and a bubbling romance before Mother Rosario took a fat Elephant Crap all over it. But I digress, the anime that popped my virgin cherry was Heavens Lost Property or Sora no Otoshimono . Yes you read that right, the fan service angelic anime, that I have never seen anything like it at the time. This piece of art really stuck to me, an not because of the edge lord mc Tomoki, or the excessive gravity defying oppai. But the detailed with the characters an animation really spoke to me. By spoke to me, I mean my first heroine obsession Ikaros.

Point Of No Return

The story begins with a over used personality, a pervert who wants nothing to happen, have his world turned upside down, in a literal sense. A childhood friend who constantly beats him, a school president whose filthy rich, an genius friend who wants to discover a new world, turns Tomoki boring life to one that ends in a explosion. During a meet up, that ended in him going alone, Tomoki ends up in a head on collision with a Angel falling from grace.

With a semi decent sound track, great visuals, an beautifully design characters, I felt like I was thrown into a new world. To my disappointment the story never finishes an the final movie “Eternal My Master” your left with a sour taste of defeat as they rushed the final production that left viewers highly upset an cringe. Especially after the second season ended with him finally accepting all 5 angels, Alpha, Beta, Delta, Hiyori an my personal favorite Chaos.

To him being dropped to his dream world for no apparent reason, if you never read the manga, it’s a complete mind jerk. When all we wanted was to see Ikaros go Uranus Queen on Zeus.

So once I finally finished the series I sought after other anime that actually finished the plot. I somehow ended up at Guilty Crown, which left yet another bitter taste with it’s ending. My next blog might be Great Anime Terrible Endings. Instead it just peaked my curiosity, an made me crave a insane amount of more that Netflix was supplying. I searched high an low for apps that provided anime, before I learned about KissAnime, I used Jpanime, an Hitanime, but before that was the Holy Grail of anime apps before it was force a deletion virus. #Toonmania, yes Toonmania was a true blessing back in it’s glory days. It’s currently back Online after 2 or 3 years of being forced a deletion bugged.

If you could think of the name, this app 100% had it in Dub, Sub, Manga, you could ChromeCast, an it had a community chat to top it off with a highly reliable download system to your smart device, an not the app itself. I recently discovered it was back online after randomly checking the app, but this was the app that set me off. While on the bus to work I was downloading 20 Episodes at a time to watch later, while watching the new release they always got weeks before Crunchyroll. Thanks to this app, I seen an read every anime an manga there was possibly available at the time.

Fighting Addiction

Now my apartment is full of anime games, phone is filled with anime related apps, social sites is full of cosplayers, an I spend my time trying to get enough PTO hours to take off for a Convention. This isn’t a fight I care to win, I just hope I managed to enlighten readers to useful Apps that make watching anime 10x easier, than sourcing through bugs and buffers. So I’ll end this with my top 3 Anime + Games of the week (not subjected to new releases)

Your comedic Excessive Harem story. About a boy who gets washed up on a shore after a huge fight at home. He becomes the only boy on a island full of Women, with it’s old style being easily ignored by it’s humor.

This anime takes place on a alien invaded planet, where they kidnapped all the children an killed all the parents. But the one’s who been killing the parents wasn’t actually the aliens. As kids they were place with codes that gave them superhuman abilities. Some can fly, others could wield super massive swords that could slice a fleet in halve. The romance with the music was beautiful as they focus on each character story, making you even pity the creatures that destroyed the planet.

This is highly one of those type games that one side either loves it, or the other truly despises it. I’m somewhere in the middle. Though I beat all 3 games multiple times, once you play Lightning Returns, it makes the turn base situation pretty much over taxing. As much as I love the I hit you, you hit me situations, being able to freely move was a huge turning point for Square Enix, that led to Final Fantasy XV which is honestly one of my top 10 games I platinum. You start off as a human soldier, who fight her way through numerous obstacles. From petty bandits to God himself. As she do it all for the love of her sister. The cinematic scenes don’t come like that to often, as you dive deep into how each character feel, from a heartbroken Snow, a estranged Hope, a misguided Vanille, to dozen others. Final Fantasy 7 still stands above the others, but XIII was a new Era for the popular Series.
